Heel pain /Plantar fasciitis
Plantar fasciitis (PLAN-tur fas-e-I-tis) is one of the most common causes of heel pain. It involves inflammation of a thick band of tissue that runs across the bottom of your foot and connects your heel bone to your toes (plantar fascia).
Plantar fasciitis commonly causes stabbing pain that usually occurs with your first steps in the morning. As you get up and move, the pain normally decreases, but it might return after long periods of standing or when you stand up after sitting.( Mayo clinic)
In terms of Chinese Medicine we can see that dysfunction as so called Blood stagnation in corresponding meridians. Which can be interpreted as microtears in corresponding tissues.

How do we treat plantar fasciitispain:
- Japanese Acupuncture – Uses the thorough palpation in order to find neuromuscular lines which are in metabolic deficiencies or distress. Once the pathology is found, very superficial needle insertions are made in order to restore proper flow in these lines.
- Balance method of Dr Tan Acupuncture – uses distal areas (wrists, head etc.) to eliminate the local pain.
- Structural Acupucncture - addresses misalignment between principal anatomical structures , such as: sacrum , iliac bones, spine, neck, scull.
- Electro Acupuncture – helps to improve the proper electrical charge of damaged cells , allowing their healthy regeneration.
- Laser Acupuncture – Nourishes the damaged tissues with red and infrared light, activating cellular activities and intercellular exchange, improving blood and lymph circulation.
- Chinese manual therapy Tuina – Relieves pain by using manual techniques . It uses mobilizations to realign the body. Passive joint movements are used to restore function to muscle and joints.
